Professional ways to clean the bathroom in a hotel, restaurant, office and home

The bathroom is a place that requires a special approach to cleaning. We expect cleanliness, hygienic conditions and a pleasant smell. The condition of the bathroom affects the image of the entire facility in which it is located. Let us also remember that we enter the bathroom for various purposes, not only physiological ones. This is a room where many women deal with their cosmetic matters. Therefore, in this respect, the bathroom must be clean and hygienic. Since it is often used by many people, it must be a sterile room. This is especially important not only for adults, but especially for children.

Types of bathroom dirt

When cleaning the bathroom, we may encounter such dirt as: water scale, limescale, rust, soap scum, mold, and cosmetic residues. Water scale is a deposit of calcium and magnesium carbonate, formed as a result of the thermal decomposition of calcium and magnesium bicarbonates found in water, especially hard water. Water contains various mineral compounds and releases them as it flows through the installation. Mineral compounds settle on the surface and scale is formed. It forms in places where running water flows (faucet and shower spouts) and in humid places that dry out periodically (e.g. around the tap, on the horizontal surfaces of the washbasin, in the toilet bowl, in the shower cabin).

Agents with a very low pH are used to remove scale, rust or limescale. However, you need to be very careful when using such preparations, because in the bathroom we can find acid-resistant materials, e.g. porcelain, ceramic, granite tiles, but also those that are very delicate and acid products will damage their surface, e.g. marble, terrazzo, PVC, concrete, clinker, enamel, joints, powder-coated bathroom fittings, acrylic bathtub and shower tray surfaces and other bathroom accessories.

The Clinex Nanochem brand offers products for removing water scale, rust and limescale. These are: Clinex W3 Forte , Clinex W3 Multi and Clinex W3 Active Shield .

Clinex W3 Forte is a ready-to-use preparation, recommended for thorough cleaning of acid-resistant surfaces. Removes heavy dirt and eliminates urine odors. Clinex W3 Multi is a gel concentrate, which makes it very good for cleaning toilet bowls, urinals, bidets, porcelain washbasins, shower trays and bathtubs, which is further facilitated by the specially profiled tip. It has a pleasant scent. It can also be used after dilution for cleaning floors in sanitary rooms and for cleaning joints. Particularly noteworthy is W3 Active Shield , which is safe for cleaned surfaces, contains polymers and has hydrophilic properties , unlike most protective products that have hydrophobic properties.

Products with hydrophobic properties cause the surface covered with them to repel water because the water contact angle is high. It is the angle formed by the surface and the plane tangent to the surface of the liquid. The greater the contact angle, the more a given surface repels water. As a result, water drops form on the surface, which leave traces when they dry. In the case of the hydrophilic effect, the contact angle is small, thanks to which water spreads on the surface.

Hydrophilic coatings work by uniformly distributing water molecules. The drops combine with each other and create a layer that quickly flows off and evaporates without leaving streaks. W3 Active Shield also makes the cleaned surface shiny, the effect of re-deposition of dirt is delayed and the subsequent washing process is easier because the polymers contained in it fill micro-scratches.

How to remove residues from cosmetics, soap deposits, residues from oil-based perfumes?

Another type of dirt in the bathroom is greasy dirt, e.g. cosmetic residues, soap scum, spray conditioners, oil-based perfumes. Most often, they are mounted on bathroom tiles. For such dirt, we use alkaline agents (with high pH) and in this case, the Clinex Nanochem brand recommends the Clinex Glazur product intended for glazed tiles. This liquid has degreasing, caring and antistatic properties, thanks to which dust deposition is delayed. It also deepens the natural color of the cleaned surface.

Professional acidic disinfectants – an effective way to fight mold and bacteria.

Despite making every effort to keep the bathroom clean, there is still the issue of uninvited guests. Although it is not yet entirely clear who they are talking about, you should be aware that these guys can be really dangerous. Of course, these are microorganisms that very often cause unexpected infections and even infections. Every person, especially anyone who cares about cleanliness in sanitary rooms, knows this very well. Many people know that microorganisms can easily spread from person to person and they have no major problems with it. Unwanted guests can enter any room, but they especially like bathrooms. Why?

The bathroom is a humid and warm room – which favors the growth of mold and bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to use disinfecting products. Chlorine-based disinfectants are popular – but their use can cause a lot of damage. Disinfection with a chlorine-based agent negatively affects ceramic and stoneware tiles, materials used to finish facades or doors, and stainless steel, which is increasingly used in bathrooms. Chlorine-based products can be replaced with acidic disinfecting and cleaning preparations , because lowering the pH of the water environment below 3 has a lethal effect on most microorganisms.

In the Clinex product line – these are the properties of Clinex W3 Bacti, created on the basis of glycolic acid with biocidal properties. It has cleaning and disinfecting properties in the bactericidal and fungicidal range. It has a gel consistency, which means it stays in contact with the surface longer and is more effective. Thanks to a specially curved tip, the packaging is suitable for cleaning toilet bowls and urinals. It can also be used on surfaces in contact with food. Bacteria, viruses and fungi are neutralized before they can spread to other surfaces. This is very important, and in non-professional disinfectants this is a problem. Unfortunately, packaging is a container whose contents cope with microorganisms, but inadvertently allow them to spread.

Professional air fresheners for the bathroom

The smell in the bathroom is also important, as it can deepen the impression of cleanliness of the room. There are air fresheners available on the market that not only have a nice scent, but also neutralize unpleasant odors, e.g. Clinex Air . This product is intended for use in small rooms. It comes in two fragrance notes. An allergen-free version of Clinex Air Plus is also available.

Choosing the right cleaning agent is very important. The cleaning preparation should be selected optimally for the type of surface being cleaned, so as not to damage it, and for the type of dirt in order to remove it effectively.

Choosing an air freshener – smell in the bathroom

The choice of an air freshener is an individual matter for each person responsible for maintaining cleanliness. The scent of the air freshener should always be selected depending on the purpose of the room.
The air freshener should not only smell good, but also fulfill another task. Its function is also to neutralize unpleasant odors and eliminate volatile microorganisms. However, it is worth remembering that each person reacts differently to scents and it is not about the aroma. The air freshener should be selected with the lowest possible content of artificial ingredients. Why? Well, when using air fresheners for a long time, artificial ingredients cause deterioration of well-being and often headaches.
