What is pH?

We encounter it in many areas of our lives. We talk about pH in the context of human skin and cosmetics, but also various types of liquids, including cleaning agents. This gives us information about its effectiveness and purpose. The pH coefficient informs us about the scale amount of acidity and alkalinity of a specific aqueous solution with a chemical compound. There is a belief that the higher the pH of a cleaning agent, the more effective it is. The purpose of cleaning is to neutralize the influence of alkaline or acidic ions. If we are dealing with alkaline dirt, we choose cleaning products with an acidic pH. If we are cleaning surfaces with acidic dirt, we should choose a product with an alkaline pH.

Floor cleaning products can be divided according to their pH. We distinguish alkaline, acidic and neutral cleaning agents. Products with an acidic pH perfectly remove inorganic dirt, e.g. hard water deposits, rust, lime deposits, stone deposits, concrete, cement, carbon deposits. When cleaning sensitive surfaces, choose agents with a neutral reaction. They are especially recommended for cleaning devices made of stainless steel, as well as floors protected with polymers or waxes. They are very safe for cleaned surfaces and cope well with minor dirt. Products with an alkaline reaction remove organic dirt and synthetic fats. They cope perfectly with animal and vegetable fats, grease, wax, soot, paraffin and protein.

Acidic products are best for cleaning surfaces in sanitary rooms. Solvents that are toxic and flammable must not be used. They also have an adverse impact on human health and the cleaned surface, as well as the natural environment.

Acidic preparation for cleaning floors

It is Clinex M3Acid with an acidic pH and a high degree of concentration, which translates into high product efficiency. It is a low-foaming liquid and is great at dissolving dirt such as limestone, soap remnants, traces of cement and plaster. After use, it leaves a pleasant fresh scent in the room. It can be used for thorough and routine cleaning.

To use , Clinex M3Acid surface cleaning liquid should be diluted with water as recommended. We use a solution of 2 to 10% (200 – 1000 ml/10 l of water). For intensive washing, the following proportions are recommended – from 1 to 5% (100 – 500 ml/10 l of water). On a daily basis, to remove dirt from the floor, a solution of 0.1 to 0.5% (10 – 50 ml/10 l of water) is enough.

Apply the prepared solution to the surface to be cleaned and leave for approx. 1 minute, then clean and dry. Before each cleaning, the floor should be vacuumed or swept. For hand washing, we use a mop, while for machine washing, single-disc scrubbers work very well, as they also collect dirty water from the floor.

Choosing the right agent adapted to the type of surface and dirt being cleaned is crucial for the effectiveness of keeping rooms clean. Acidic preparations for sanitary surfaces are the most effective both for routine and thorough cleaning.

When do we choose neutral and alkaline pH products?

Cleaning products with an acidic pH are perfect for cleaning surfaces dirty with sediment, rust, tarnish and scale. Their high pH means they have few H+ ions. They effectively remove fats and oily dirt. Soap intended for hand washing also has these properties. Thanks to its high pH, ​​it removes fat from our skin very effectively and quickly. Therefore, when it comes to products with an alkaline coefficient, they will definitely be intended for cleaning kitchen surfaces.

We choose agents with a neutral pH when cleaning surfaces sensitive to acids and alkalis. So it will be glass, leather, upholstery and carpets. These materials are much more difficult to clean, especially since care must be taken when choosing the appropriate preparation. Cleaning with a high or low pH agent may result in permanent damage.

We always choose the pH factor of cleaning products taking into account the type of surface and the type of dirt. Acidic pH is the best solution if you are looking for a sanitary surface cleaner. It copes very well with typical dirt, such as scale deposits, all kinds of deposits, rust and scale.
