It seems that the market is saturated with products that fight harmful pathogens, but is it really? Today, during the fight against the pandemic, people have become convinced that the only effective products are those based on alcohol. Media hype and the belief that the only reliable substance is alcohol causes other drugs to be perceived as ineffective.

Contrary to misconception, apart from alcohol, there are several other substances on the market that work equally well against the virus. An additional advantage of some of them is their less destructive impact on the surfaces they come into contact with. Long-term use of alcohol on the surface may have negative effects, e.g. lead to its destruction. According to the principle that the end justifies the means, it might seem that damaging or destroying the surface is a small loss. Small, but of course compared to something more important, e.g. a sense of security.

In such a situation, it is necessary to take into account the current state of the economic situation, with many companies reporting losses. Employers hand out notices of termination to employees, often to high-class specialists, with trembling hands. However, they hope that soon they will be able to open the doors of their companies again. Everyone was forced to save and build a financial cushion. This is just in case this dire situation turns even worse. This is why it is not worth generating unnecessary costs and taking care of what we have. One way is to select the appropriate means for disinfecting surfaces.
Clinex DEZOFast – innovative and effective?
When looking through the offers of companies that have disinfectants that effectively fight the virus, you can notice that not all of them are alcohol-based. Some of them are based on innovative substances. Most of them are as effective as alcohol, and sometimes even more effective. And at the same time, it has a less harmful impact on surfaces. Chemical composition confirmed by specialized tests
Didecyldimethylammonium chloride, because this is what we are talking about, is one of the frequently mentioned and emphasized substances to fight the coronavirus. Research published at the beginning of February this year in the specialized Journal of Hospital Infection lists this substance along with ethyl alcohol and several others. This substance has an additional advantage – it does not stay on the surface for as short a time as ethyl alcohol – it only stays on the surface for about 30 seconds. Didecyldimethylammonium chloride lasts up to 3 days. A fact that is unfortunately not talked about so loudly is interesting. Namely, at room temperature, the virus, depending on the type of surface (metal, plastic, wood, paper, glass, rubber, ceramics or Teflon), can persist for up to 9 days!
I agree with the research results published in the Journal of Hospital Infection Anna Nowak, head of the research and development department of the Amtra group, who confirms – “Clinex is based on didecyldimethylammonium chloride, because it has a very broad spectrum of action and is also able to protect the surface against the development of pathogens for up to three days, which is not the case with alcohol, because after evaporation we lose its biocidal properties. “
Therefore, disinfection of our space, especially places where there is direct exposure to pathogenic microorganisms, is not only prevention, but on the contrary – it seems to be one of the most effective methods of fighting.
Disinfection has become important
Once we return to our seemingly “new” normality, we will slowly let go of prevention and we must not forget that there are still viruses and pathogenic microorganisms lurking somewhere. We have reached a place where disinfection has taken on a completely new and much more serious meaning. It has become a process without which many of us will not be able to get rid of anxiety and feel safe in our current place.
Breaking stereotypes
However, does the term “disinfection” have to be directly associated with alcohol? This is contradicted by the availability and greater effectiveness of chemicals currently available on the market, an example of which is Clinex DEZOFast . It shows that the growth inhibition zone, which is the disc around the pad soaked in Clinex DEZOFast, is much larger compared to 61% alcohol. This is indisputable evidence that shows the effectiveness of a non-alcoholic product compared to alcohol.
